Good morning!
This is 10 Beautiful Things, where I’ll share ten things I’ve found beautiful this week, online or off. In sharing them, I hope to share some beauty with you, and encourage you to find (and share!) some beautiful things of your own.
Peach foxglove in the floral studio, early last week.
The food scene in Durham, North Carolina. IYKYK
A new best cocktail I’ve ever tried – called My Lady Grey.
The view over the bridge driving into the Outer Banks, and the peace that washes over when you cross into the shores.
New-to-me trees on the disc golf course and sand beneath our feet.
Jake and I have a tradition we started last year: we created a playlist specifically to listen to as we drive down to the beach together each May. We have very specific criteria for the vibe of the playlist, and we spend the drive adding new songs and debating whether they belong or not. Here’s the playlist if you need some driving-to-the-beach energy in your life right now (and I hope you get the reference).
Got to visit my favorite little shop in Outer Banks and chat with the owners! If you’re ever visiting there, you must go. The prettiest pottery, tasty local honey, candles, soaps, and sweet people.
A wink from God: last week, I was anxious and troubled about something as I was falling asleep, and I engaged in breath prayer as I was drifting off – taking any Scripture you know and recalling it to mind as you breathe in and out. The verse I chose that night was out of John 15. Inhale: Abide in me. Exhale: and I in you. The next day, on my way to work, I opened a prayer app I sometimes use and this was that day’s reflection:
Appreciated and was convicted by this read from Sara Billups and Yi Ning Chiu.
It was Jake’s birthday this week! I love who he is so much.
