Good morning!
This is 10 Beautiful Things, a weekly missive where I’ll share ten things I’ve found beautiful, online or off. I hope to share some beauty with you, and encourage you to find (and share!) some beautiful things of your own.
Scents from the garden: tomato leaf! Gardenia (the identified flowering bush from last week)! Rosemary! The woods!
Water lilies in bloom.
The fact that you can always learn new things about others, even if you’ve known them for years and years.
Went to a concert with my friend to listen to local artists Maya Elizabeth and Eva Swanson and it made my heart feel lighter to sway to the music and just enjoy the atmosphere. Check out their music – it will lift you! (Some of my favorites are on my summer playlist!)
Finding near-perfect secondhand furniture for projects and friends alike.
Additionally, getting newly propagated plants for an interior project and everyone’s excitement around a new baby plant. Joy!
Watching The Godfather for the first time with spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.
The ability to approach projects with a clear head. Especially as I get older, it can be difficult to lasso and maintain focus for organizational, creative, administrative, or academic work (which I have to do this summer, on all four accounts!). I’m learning to recognize and appreciate moments of focus and single-mindedness.
Spending the entirety of my Sunday afternoon with another future St Andrews student and getting to share in the unique joy of our upcoming season.
Exceptional coffee at The Roost and exceptional bánh mì at the Eden Center. You can’t go wrong.
BONUS BEAUTY: Jenna’s latest from Feeling! Magazine. Worth the read!
