Good afternoon!
This is 10 Beautiful Things, a weekly missive where I’ll share ten things I’ve found beautiful, online or off. I hope to share some beauty with you, and encourage you to find (and share!) some beautiful things of your own.
I’ve been traveling, so apologies for my missing post last week – but I shall make up for it in pictures this week!
Being in the company of longtime friends where you can show up as far less than your best self and still be met with love and understanding.
A hidden gem of an Airbnb, a bike ride away from the Columbia River – one of the most restful places I’ve ever seen and I’ve gotten to enjoy it twice now.
How different the wildflowers on the west coast are from the east!
Anytime I get to ride a ferry (and I got to do that twice this past week).
Cape Disappointment at golden hour — not disappointing at all!
A flight of four of the most delicious lattes I’ve ever tasted at Cafe Hagen in Seattle.
This essay written by my friend, is on my heart lots recently: https://graceshawpoetry.com/spirit-who-could-not-be-broken/
Returning home to the gifts of extra rest time, my parents opening their pool for the summer, and a yellow dahlia in bloom in the backyard.
“We shall not cease from exploration / And the end of all our exploring / Will be to arrive where we started / And know the place for the first time.”
Finding out a closed door from earlier this year was actually an act of providence and mercy – and remembering that the Lord cares for me in many ways that I can’t see.
What’s something beautiful you found this week?
Any mentions of the NW and photos of the same make my heart happy! Thank you!
Number 10 this week was an excellent reminder for me!
