Good morning!
This is 10 Beautiful Things, where I’ll share ten things I’ve found beautiful this week, online or off. In sharing them, I hope to share some beauty with you, and encourage you to find (and share!) some beautiful things of your own.
My bedroom window and getting a view of these rainy trees from it. I have moved into a treehouse, it seems!
Reaching the end of an extraordinarily busy week and soaking up the joy of free time like never before.
Regan – my cousin, but also feels like a younger sister to me in so many ways. We’ve gotten to overlap in our adult lives so much more than I ever thought we would: in the spaces we’ve shared (college, then Arlington, now work) and things we love (hiking, flowers, community). She is spunky and funny, affectionate and adventurous. I love ya pal!
This song on repeat this week, and this one (feels right on time, doesn’t it?)
How picking up a new hobby opens doors for new conversations with all kinds of people.
Good sunsets in the only place you’ll be able to see them in Northern Virginia (the highway).
How well we’ve been sleeping in our new, temporary place for the summer.
Getting to work with my hands more than usual this week, making pretty things.
This Substack from a recent account discovery, Host in Your Home, who sends out recipes and cute seasonal dinner party plans. Here’s her latest post on a Mother’s Day menu!
Howl’s Moving Castle.
What’s something beautiful you found this week?
This book. I just finished it and it was a balm to the soul. A gift from Monica, who knows me well! (It seems I cannot post a photo...so the name is The Backyard Bird Chronicles by Amy Tan. You would LOVE the bird illustrations by the author)
