Good morning!
This is 10 Beautiful Things, where I’ll share ten things I’ve found beautiful this week, online or off. In sharing them, I hope to share some beauty with you, and encourage you to find (and share!) some beautiful things of your own.
Work views.
My new commute, which is 0% stoplights or traffic and 100% rolling hills and twisting backroads under a canopy of forest, passing fields, farms and gorgeous houses each day.
On a whim, I hung my hammock up on an unused spot of porch after work one day, wanting to prolong my enjoyment of the May weather. I forgot how totally at peace I feel just swaying in my little green Eno. (Are you like me, owning a hammock from college days that’s collecting dust somewhere? Take it out to the porch or the park this week! You will not regret!)
My latest breakfast fixation: scrambled eggs with everything seasoning and Texas Pete, sourdough with Kerrygold and Bonne Maman blackberry preserves. Every bite is a 10.
While unpacking yesterday, I culled several mugs out of my large collection. Now, I have just 6 or 7 (2 from my favorite coffee shop in Holland, Michigan) and they’re all mugs I love and use regularly.
A brief conversation I had with a retired NICU nurse while we both waited for our coffee orders. She said, “Your life doesn’t end when you have a child – it begins all over again.”
Ithaca brand hummus. Truly, the best hummus I’ve ever had. Superior to all other hummuses.
Summer frogsongs at night and falling asleep to the sound of rain.
Sifting through the detritus after our move and slowly finding pockets of order, getting organized inch by inch, unearthing new corners to tidy.
A lot of good news in the lives of my family and friends that I’m treasuring and giving thanks for these days.
What’s something beautiful you found this week?
Shout out to Lemonjello’s 😊
