The Forage: October's Art Letter
A new collection, custom paintings for Christmas, and print adventures
Hello there! Thank you for subscribing to Found in the Fields. If you’re new here, I’m Ellie, an artist and writer living in Virginia. Here you’ll get to see glimpses of my painting practice and writings on the intersection of art and faith.
This is my art letter, sent once a month. In this letter, you'll get an insider view of what I'm currently creating in my home studio. This is also where my early shop openings and subscriber-only discounts live. Welcome!
Coming in November: The Wanderlands Collection
I am endlessly inspired by the concept of placemaking – the idea of places you’ve been holding significance to your story, but also finding beauty and enchantment in the places where you actually live your day-to-day life. This fall I’m creating a new collection of landscapes that celebrates both of those things – the faraway places I find beautiful, and some views from my hometown of Northern Virginia that I find equally beautiful. My hope is that you find glory and a sense of adventure in these scenes!
This collection of 10 original watercolor paintings, painted on handmade Khadi paper, as well as my wider holiday shop including prints, cards, and ornaments, will open on Monday, November 4th – right on time for Christmas shopping. Mark your calendars!
Christmas commissions are open!
Are you looking for a meaningful Christmas gift for yourself or a loved one? Wanting to remember a home you loved living in, your wedding bouquet, or a place that holds an important memory? I’d love to help you make that happen. If you’ve been thinking about creating something personal and presence-filled, don’t miss the opportunity! Commission requests will close on October 25th. Visit my inquiry form below or reply directly to this email to tell me about your idea!
Shop large prints before price increases next week!
I am so grateful for your print orders! Thank you for your support of my little print shop. The thought of these prints gracing your walls all over the U.S. brings me lots of joy.
I realized recently that my large-scale print orders (11x17 vertical prints & 16x20 horizontal prints) are slightly less profitable than they should be for cost of production. I am still working out the kinks with Etsy pricing. :) But, before I increase the price, I wanted to give my email subscribers a chance to snag them at a slight discount!
If you’ve had your eye on a large-scale print and want to get one at a slightly lower price, now is the time! I’ll adjust large print pricing starting on October 11th.
I’m grateful for you! Thanks for reading my art letter. Feel free to forward this post to a friend who loves art and adventure.
